Happy Friday, everyone! This past Tuesday the much anticipated Sweet Peach collection finally arrived in Australia at Mecca Maxima! I picked up the Sweet Peach Glow palette, which retails for $61.00 here. It’s currently unavailable online, but you can check it out here anyway. I’ve been testing this palette for the last few days since I got it – here are my thoughts!
Like a lot of other Too Faced products, this glow palette has a scent to it – it smells like peach lollies! I was a bit hesitant about the smell, because even though I love the smell of the chocolate bronzer, their recent holiday collection was a bit hit and miss in the scent department (not sure they nailed Eggnog Latte for me). But this palette smells divine and is not overwhelming for me at all! If you are very sensitive to smells, I would try this out in store before purchasing.
As always, the Too Faced packaging is too cute for words. It’s a metal palette with a slightly magnetised closure. It feels sturdy, heavy, and the colour and little peach face are adorable! I really like the gold interior as well as the nicely sized mirror as well.
The bronze shade in the palette is very sheer – even on my fair skin tone. I had heard this before purchasing the palette though, so I knew what I was in for. Still, the shade is very sheer and has to be built up quite a lot in order to show up on my skin. I’ve found that using a dense brush (as opposed to a fluffy brush that I would normally use to apply bronzer) helps pack the colour on. I’ve only used this palette a few times and already the cute detail embossing on the powders is wearing down because I need to go in so many times to get colour pay-off. This shade will definitely not work on anyone with a medium to dark skin tone, which is unfortunate. I’ve found that this is actually a lovely colour to blend into my eye crease to create a quick and easy eye look. Although this isn’t my favourite face bronzer, I will use it on my eyes as well and get more use out of it that way.
The blush is really lovely, but again, on the sheer side. It does leave a little sheen to the cheeks, but nothing crazy, it is very subtle. It can be built up or lightly swept over the top of another blush to give it some shine. I really like the peachy colour this gives the cheeks. Like the bronzer, I found that using a denser brush helps when applying this blush.
The highlighter is the standout winner in this palette for me. It is a gorgeous pale highlighter with peachy pink undertones, perfect for my skin tone. It melts into the skin and looks so smooth and shiny – I don’t know if that makes sense but a lot of my other highlighters tend to look quite stark on my cheekbones, whereas this highlighter just blends so beautifully, it looks like I’ve polished my cheekbones! If they made this highlighter and sold it separately I would love that – who wants to start a petition with me? Honestly this highlighter made the palette completely worth it for me. The other two shades are quite sheer and nothing too special, but the highlighter is magnificent. It makes me excited for the Too Faced highlighters launching in a couple of months – I hope the formula is the same!
So that’s it! My thoughts on the Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow palette. I’m really keen to try the peach oil lip glosses as well! I’m not too fussed about the eyeshadow palette at the moment, simply because I feel I have enough eyeshadows and don’t use the ones I have enough. Let me know if I should though! Be sure to leave a comment below and let me know if you picked up anything from the collection and what you think!
Stay peachy keen,
