This will be my last Monthly Favourites post for the year! Later in December I’ll be posting my 2017 Beauty Favourites (prepare yourselves because that will be a long one!). Keep reading to find out my favourite products in November!
ColourPop Pressed Shadow Palettes in You Had Me At Hello and Element of Surprise
These two palettes are the newest in my collection and therefore I reached for them a lot during November. I had to include both palettes because they work so well together – I almost view them as being one big palette. Whenever I use one, I tend to use the other as well.
That’s not to say that these palettes are in any way incomplete or lacking – they work amazing on their own, but I have both so like to use them together because I can!
These palettes were part of ColourPop’s fall collection. You Had Me At Hello is their first palette containing a mirror. It’s made up of amazing neutral shades leaning towards those mauve/purple tones. The Element of Surprise palette contains some great basic neutrals as well but also some pops of colour – that vibrant pink shade plus two duochrome shades make this palette something special. I can’t wait to use more of these vibrant shades as we get closer to Christmas with more parties happening.
As always, ColourPop’s formula does not disappoint. The shadows are creamy, smooth, and blend beautifully without losing any pigment. There is some kickback in the pan but no fall out when applied to the eyes. I highly recommend these affordable palettes! I absolutely love them!

Maybelline Colour Sensational Stripped Nudes lipstick in 725 Tantalising Taupe
I picked this lipstick up on a complete whim – I honestly don’t remember what made me buy this lipstick, other than mindlessly picking it up, swatching it on my hand, and falling in love.
This lipstick is the perfect sheer, creamy, nourishing nude. It has a beautiful warmth to it so it doesn’t wash me out and it’s so comfortable. I have said before that I love sheer lipsticks because they are so easy to apply and you don’t have to worry about fading and smudging as much. This is now my go-to lipstick for day or night, I absolutely love it.
It smells incredible too! Honestly I could smell this lipstick all day. The packaging is cute and it’s affordable! I already picked up another shade in the normal Colour Sensational range because I loved this one so much.
Matrix Step 3 Bond Ultim8 Fiber Protecting System (Sealing Treatment)
I have no idea if this is available to buy on its own but I got this hair treatment from my hairdressers as the third step in an in-salon treatment process. It claims six benefits: protect the hair cuticle, prevent breakage, add flexibility, boost hydration, renew smoothness, add softness, increase shine, and promote healthier looking hair.
I can confidently say that this treatment did all of those things. I applied it to my damp hair prior to shampoo and left it on for at least 10 minutes (but tried to leave it on for closer to 60 minutes – you can also leave it on overnight). My hair has definitely felt stronger and more healthy. I haven’t had as much hair fall either.
Matrix is a fairly popular hair care brand in Australia and can be found at most hairdressers so if you are in Australia I do recommend you check this treatment out. I have also used Matrix shampoos and conditioners and loved them as well.
Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes, and Lips
I got a little sample of this makeup remover and then as soon as that finished I happened to get another. This is my second sample size of this makeup remover and I love it. I have loved it since I first tried it out but it wasn’t until I got my lashes lifted and tinted that I really appreciated this product.
It is an oil-based makeup remover that is really gentle on the eyes. I wanted to look after my lashes as best I could while they were curled and tinted so I used this remover every time I wore eye makeup to gently remove the makeup from my lashes. You don’t have to rub or pull, the products just glide right off when using this remover.
It is expensive for what it is, but I do recommend it. It works amazingly well on liquid lipsticks as well.
For my non-beauty favourite this month I turn again to TV. After devouring Stranger Things 1 & 2 I convinced my partner to start watching Sense8. I had already seen both seasons several times but I find you can never watch this show too many times so have happily been rewatching it for the last month.
The Wachowski siblings created the show, which is about eight individuals from around the world who are connected psychically. It’s beautiful in every possible way – the characters and their individual journeys are beautiful, the writing is beautiful, the settings are beautiful, and the way the episodes are edited is beautiful. Each episode reportedly costs $9 million to make, but it’s easy to see why when they film on-location in many different countries. Seriously, this show is stunning, and you must check it out if you haven’t already!
And that concludes my favourites for the month of November! Thanks so much for reading!
As we get closer to Christmas my posting may be a bit more irregular. On top of Christmas, which is always a busy time, I am moving house! Many of my weekends and days off when I would be working on my blog and Instagram are now going to be dedicated to packing and moving. Internet may be scarce for the next month as well. Please bear with me! I have a couple more posts going up before the end of the year but I’ll be taking at least two weeks off around Christmas/New Year to get myself settled. I hope you understand.
