Welcome back lovely readers! This is my second Empties post – if you’d like to read my first one, click here. This is a post all about what products I have used up or thrown away for whatever reason. I really enjoy reading these types of posts and I hope you do too.
Fudge Clean Blonde Violet Toning Shampoo
I have written about this product already in my blonde hair care post, which you can read here. As the name states, this shampoo is purple and it’s designed to tone blonde hair and reduce yellow/brassy tones. This shampoo is strong and it will stain your hands if you don’t rinse them right away. It can also be a little drying to your hair because it is so potent, but I didn’t find it to be too bad. This definitely reduced those brassy tones and left my hair looking more cool toned, which I prefer. You have to be very careful not to use this shampoo too often as your hair can over-tone. I used this once per week, and supplemented another repairing shampoo for other days.
Yes, I would repurchase this shampoo. It is pretty affordable, and it lasted me a long time. I am currently trying out another violet toning shampoo just to compare and try new things. I would definitely repurchase this Fudge shampoo in the future though.
Schwarzkopf Essence Ultîme Citrus Oil Blonde & Bright Neutralising Mask
Again, this product was mentioned in my hair care post earlier this year (linked above). It’s an affordable hair mask that is light purple in colour and is designed to help tone blonde hair as well. I don’t think this did much toning in my hair, but it did a wonderful job of repairing my hair and making it feel soft and healthy. This hair mask contains keratin which is super important to use in your hair, especially if it has been coloured and bleached like my hair has. I used this mask once per week and left it on for a few minutes before rinsing out.
Yes, I have already repurchased this product and have been using it as normal in my routine. I am open to testing out other hair masks, so once this container runs out I may try something new. However, for now, I love this hair mask and am happy to have repurchased it.
Batiste Dry Shampoo in Rose Gold
I was gifted with a lot of Batiste dry shampoo bottles earlier this year and I am slowly using them all up. I love dry shampoo and use it at least once per week to get my hair through until wash day. These dry shampoos are affordable, come in a range of fragrances and finishes, and they are pretty effective if you’re looking for one extra day of freshness. This particular scent is really sweet, soft, pretty, and feminine. I’m terrible at describing scents, and I don’t understand how rose gold is supposed to represent a fragrance, but there you go.
I have plenty more bottles of dry shampoo to use up before I need to purchase more, but yes, I would repurchase this particular fragrance. This fragrance is by far my favourite of the ones I have tried so far!
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
Yet again, I have already written about this product (whoops!), in my skin care routine posts. You can read the relevant post here. This is a well-known product designed to target blemishes when they first appear. This is an excellent product that did a pretty good job of diminishing my breakouts quickly and painlessly. It did dry out certain areas but that is to be expected when using a product like this. The salicylic acid eventually dried up in this bottle, leaving only the calamine lotion left. It lasted a decent amount of time.
Yes, I already have repurchased this product. My skin is breaking out regularly now (joy) and I have more need of this product than I did before. It’s fairly affordable and it’s a neat little pimple treatment. I haven’t found anything that compares to this, so if you have any recommendations of other effective blemish treatments, let me know!
Natio Delicate Eye Cream
I purchased this eye cream after my Dr Lewinn’s eye gel ran out earlier this year. I wasn’t keen on repurchasing that product, and wanted something simple and affordable. This Natio eye cream is designed for sensitive skin, so I thought it was fairly safe to use. It comes in a plastic tube (great for travel, plus hygienic!) and it was affordable. Unfortunately after a month or two of using this, the nozzle snapped off the tube, making it very difficult to get product out and to secure the lid to the product. I had no choice but to let this product go. I was pretty disappointed because the product itself was very nice – it was gentle, lightweight, and moisturising.
I enjoyed the product while I was using it, so I may repurchase again in the future. I am very wary of this packaging though… not sure if it was just a one-off, or a regular occurrence.
Models Prefer Retractable Brow Pencil (Medium)
Yet another product that I have already written about – you can read my comparative review of this eyebrow pencil here. This is a soft crayon-like brow pencil that does not require sharpening (a must for me). It’s affordable and has a spoolie on the end. This product is really quick to apply and blend out. The only problem is the shade range – they only have three shades to choose from. The medium shade at times was a little warm for my liking, which is really the only negative I have to say about this product.
Yes, I have repurchased this pencil again, but this time in the dark shade. I am liking it so far as it is slightly cooler in tone, though it is very dark so a light hand is needed.
Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circles Eraser Treatment Concealer
I’ve written about this concealer a lot too – it’s my all-time favourite concealer. The shade match is perfect, it’s lightweight and does not crease under the eyes like so many concealers do. It covers my blemishes well also. It ticks every box!
Unsurprisingly, I have already repurchased this concealer. I did attempt to try a new concealer (the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer) but the shade/tone was wrong for me and it didn’t conceal my blemishes very well. I think I’ll be sticking with the Age Rewind for a while longer yet.
That concludes this round of Empties! I have already started accumulating empty products for my next post – this one was getting long enough! Thanks so much for reading – don’t forget to check out my Instagram if you haven’t already!
