This limited edition collection has just been restocked in Mecca, so I thought I would do a quick review for those of you still tossing up whether or not to purchase it. I purchased this haul about one month ago, and I’ve been using it pretty religiously since. The haul contains one cosmetic purse/pouch, one eyeshadow palette (containing 9 matte and 6 shimmer shades), one mini Wonderwand mascara, and one mini Liquid Velvet lipstick in the shade ‘Pin Up’. The haul is retailing for $70.00 on Mecca, with free shipping currently.
Let’s start with the cosmetic purse. It’s a lovely navy shade with gold detailing and a tassel zip. It’s standard size, and would be nice for travelling. I personally have only used this once on a weekend away, but I’m sure I will use it whenever I travel and need to store some makeup items. This little purse is not the reason why we all want this haul, though, so let’s move right along.
I have a full review coming of the Wonderwand mascara in an upcoming blog post about my current favourite mascaras. I really like this mascara — it gives dramatic volume to my lashes and can be quite chunky/clumpy if you are into that look. The packaging is cute, and the product is quite nice.
The Liquid Velvet liquid lipstick in the shade ‘Pin Up’ is hailed as one of Ciaté London’s most popular shades. I was expecting it to be a little more neutral, but on my fair skin tone it is quite dark and dramatic (for me, anyway). It is a beautiful shade, and whenever I wear it, I get lots of compliments on it. When I first applied this liquid lipstick, I did so quickly and without a liner just to test the colour out. It was quite patchy and at first I was pretty disappointed. However, I tried it again with a lip liner and it worked much better. It’s quite comfortable and long lasting on me, I did wear it out one day and I ate and drank and it wore pretty well. It does dry to a nice matte finish, but it isn’t too drying on the lips. Aside from the fact that you really need to use a liner with this lipstick, I really like the formula and the shade is gorgeous.
Lastly, and most importantly, is the ‘Pretty, Fun and Fearless’ eyeshadow palette. This palette is the star of the haul, and the main reason I purchased it. The palette has more matte shades than shimmer (a winner for me, as I don’t like working with shimmers much) in an array of wearable shades, from warm browns and nudes, to mauve pinks and purples. I only swatched 8 of the shades for you all, but they are all gorgeous and highly pigmented. I swatched the shades with my finger, just an FYI.
I find it has a good colour payoff and that the shades blend easily. I am not a makeup artist, and I think I am pretty easily pleased with most products I work with as I never do anything too dramatic, but I still believe this palette is really good quality that anyone would find easy and enjoyable to use. The colours do not crease and they stay put for a good amount of time. The packaging is also beautiful, with the navy and gold trend carrying through to this palette. I love the flamingos and the mirror with the palette name on it — it’s the little details that I appreciate!
All in all, I was really happy that I purchased this collection. There are so many YouTuber collaborations out there, and I really enjoy Chloe’s channel and the content she creates, so I was happy to support her in this. I think this is worth the money considering the price of some other palettes from Mecca!
I hope this helped, and if you do pick this haul up, let me know what you think! I hope you like it as much as I do.
