Hello my lovelies! Today I want to share with you my 10 minute makeup routine. I’ll recommend a few different product options, but obviously anything you love to use can be substituted in! These are just the steps I personally take when I want to look put together in a small amount of time.
Firstly, I cannot recommend a BB or CC cream enough for a quick base. I use the Chi Chi Cosmetics Super BB cream (it made my 2016 favourites, you can read about it here). It offers great coverage and it is really quick to apply. I am a bit OCD when it comes to wearing foundation and making it look flawless so for me foundation takes far too long to apply in a rush. I also like the Garnier BB creams (they have a few different types for different skin concerns, I personally like the sensitive one). I want to branch out and maybe try some higher end BB creams, but honestly I am obsessed with the Chi Chi Cosmetics one and I just keep going back to it!
Depending on the finish you want, you can set the BB cream with a translucent powder or a powder foundation to add coverage.
Next up is blush/bronzer/highlight. Depending on the occasion and how much time I have, I might opt for all three, or just one of these face products. Creamy products such as the Clinique Chubby Stick blushes and the Sleek Precious Metals highlighting palette are quick to apply with your fingers. Compact all-in-one palettes such as the Rimmel London Kate Sculpting palette (read my review here) or the Too Faced Sweet Peach glow palette (review here) are also super convenient and easy to use. A lot of brands are coming out with face palettes like this now too, so they are quite easy to find.
Of course I have to fill in my brows, but rather than using a powder or pomade as I might do for a special occasion, I quickly fill in my brows using a pencil. At the moment I have been using the Benefit Goof Proof pencil and the Models Prefer retractable brow pencil (you can read my comparison of the two here).
I like to take a brightening highlight shade and sweep it all over my eyelids. If I have a little extra time up my sleeve I’ll also take a warm brown shade and blend it into my crease. Lately I have been loving using Naked and Beach from my Kylie Burgundy palette (read my review here), or My Tribe and Skinny Dip/Unconditional from the Ciaté London x Chloe Morello Pretty, Fun, and Fearless palette (read my review here). Sometimes I will just take whatever highlighter and bronzer I am using and use those instead of eyeshadows. Add a little nude or white eyeliner in the waterline as well! I like the Rimmel “In the Nude” eyeliner or even my High Brow pencil from Benefit.
I love mascara so naturally I have to apply that as well. I personally need to curl my lashes with a lash curler before applying any mascara as my lashes are super straight. I usually just apply mascara to my top lashes to make my eyes look wide awake, but that depends on your personal preference and the occasion. You can read about what mascaras I love right here.
Slap on some tinted lip balm or a gloss and you are good to go! I recommend Burt’s Bees tinted lip balms, the Benefit balms, or the Revlon Colourburst lacquer balms, as well as the NYX butter glosses and Kylie Cosmetics glosses.
And that is it! This literally takes 10 minutes and it is my go-to makeup for work or running errands. For me, applying eye shadow takes the longest when doing a full face of makeup, so I forego that step and instead focus on a bright lip using long-wearing and moisturising formulas. This way I still look put together and like I made an effort, but really it was only 10 minutes.
Thanks so much for reading! Let me know what products you love to use for your 10 minute glam in the comments below! Much love,
