I am such a sucker. I get sucked into the hype surrounding new products, or even old products that have a cult following on social media. Because I spend approximately 98.72% of my life on Instagram or Pinterest or YouTube or reading blogs, I see a lot of talk surrounding various products, and I immediately want in on the action. Unfortunately, I am but a humble beauty blogger with very limited funds, so instead of jumping online and immediately ordering said desired products, I instead jot the item down in a note on my phone to remember/pine over later.
Lo and behold – my list! Here are all the “higher end” (read: products/brands that cannot be bought from the drugstore/Priceline) products that I am currently obsessing over from afar.
Tarte is only stocked in Sephora in Australia, and my closest Sephora is on the Gold Coast and I just haven’t had a chance to travel out that way yet (although apparently there is one at Chermside now, so I’ll be visiting that very soon). I don’t love buying makeup online if I can help it, so these babies have been on my list for a while until I can actually make it to a Sephora store. In particular I want the Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara, the Park Ave Princess bronzer, some Amazonian Clay blushes, the Pro Glow To Go palette, some Tarteist lip paints, and some form of eye shadow palette (preferably the Tarteist Pro Palette, but any will do). I really just plan to run to the Tarte section at Sephora and go nuts with whatever they have in stock.
Similar to above, IT Cosmetics is currently stocked in Sephora in Australia and I don’t wish to buy this product online without testing it out first. I’ve heard great things though, and I am a huge fan of CC and BB creams, so I’m sure I’ll love this.
~ Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks and Skin Frosts
Since I love the ‘Androgyny’ palette so much (review here) and my recent purchase of the Manny MUA collaboration collection I am more keen than ever to try more of his other products. The Velour liquid lipsticks in the shades Doll Parts, Masochist, Rose Matter, and Mannequin really speak to my soul. I’d also love to get my hands on his Peach Goddess, Ice Cold, and Princess Cut Skin Frosts. I’ve linked the official Jeffree Star Cosmetics website above, but you can also buy these products through Beautylish or Princess Polly Boutique for my Aussie babes.

I really want to try some old cult favourites from this brand – namely the Hangover primer, one (or more) of the Love Flush blushes, and the Sweethearts Baked Luminous Glow bronzer. I am also desperate to try some of their Melted Matte liquid lipsticks, their Sweet Peach lip glosses, and even some of their new highlighters (they look so picture perfect, but I’m just not sure the formula would be worth it based on some reviews coming out about them).
Need I say more? I want it, I need it. At this point in time, I’d take any shade, but I particularly love the look of Midnight Cowboy (gold) and Distortion (iridescent glitter). These are just hard to come by, they are always sold out on Mecca when I look online, and they are also frequently out of stock in my local Mecca store.
Everyone seems to rave about this mascara and I just know I need to try it. I am being good though and waiting until some of my other mascaras run out before purchasing this. This will definitely be getting ticked off the list though before the year is out!

Same-same with IT Cosmetics and Tarte – I need to go to a Sephora store before I can commit to purchasing something from this well-loved brand. I am really keen to try some of the Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks (hello Noble, Mother, Berlin, and Lovesick) and maybe even the Shade + Light Eye Contour palette – those matte neutral shades speak to me.
~ Stila products
This is another brand that seems to constantly be sold out of the products I want (plus these products are on the pricier end of the spectrum for me, so I can’t as easily justify a purchase). What has caught my eye recently is the Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows (what a mouthful) in the shades Kitten Karma and Rose Gold Retro. These look incredible. I have swatched testers in store and that is the closest I have ever gotten to them – they are always out of stock since they launched a few weeks ago. I would also love to try one of the new Heaven’s Hue highlighters in the shade Kitten, the iconic One Step Correct primer, some more of their Stay All Day liquid lipsticks, and maybe even one of their Eyes Are The Window eye shadow palettes – they look beautiful – particularly Soul and Mind.
So that is my current higher end makeup wish list. Phew! I think I have a problem… There is probably plenty more that I want as well (like Charlotte Tilbury, YSL, Chanel, Marc Jacobs just to name a few) but honestly, we’ll be here all day if I list every single thing I want!
Let me know if you have tried any of these products! Are they worth keeping on the list and holding out for? What products have you been lusting after lately? Also, do let me know if you liked this type of post and if you’d be interested in maybe seeing a drugstore/affordable makeup wish list!
