Welcome back lovelies! Another month down! This month felt much longer than January did, I think getting back into work and starting a new volunteering position made this month seem slower to me – the holidays were definitely over. I hope you all had a wonderful February! Here’s what I was loving…
Firstly, I absolutely have to mention my new Colourpop super shock shadows. I bought a quad in January and it arrived in the first week of February (you can read about my haul and first impressions here). Since they arrived I have been experimenting with all the products, but the super shock shadows are definitely my standout favourite. The pigmentation is incredible, they are so easy to work with, and I just have to buy more! Special mention has to go to the shade Vega, which is just the most awesome glittery shade I have ever seen. It is a cool-toned taupe gold colour with pink and violet glitter in it – I couldn’t capture the true beauty of it on my camera, in person it is much more reflective with that taupe undertone. There is a bit of glitter fallout, which is to be expected, but other than that, it is a beautiful shade, and I loved wearing it out this month.
Next up is my new favourite mascara – the Maybelline Lash Sensational. I bought this because everyone raves about this mascara on social media, particularly some of my favourite and most trusted beauty bloggers. Even though I didn’t need a new mascara, I did a clean out and retired a few older mascaras in my collection so felt I could justify a new one… also I was just impatient to try this out based on the reviews I had read! I don’t regret a thing because this mascara is incredible. I love the dual sided wand (I use the smaller end first to get to the root of my lashes, then the fan side to, well, fan my lashes out), I love the formula (quite a dry formula, which I love, because mascara tends to go everywhere on my hooded eyes while it’s drying), and I also love the cute packaging. It’s affordable too! Well… kind of. Here in Australia it’s about $10 cheaper than some higher end mascaras that I love. It’s worth it though, I have been neglecting all my other mascaras this month because of this one.
Another new purchase that just stole the show for me this February was of course my Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow palette. I won’t rave on about this too much, because you can read my review of it here if you haven’t already. I just can’t get enough of that delicious peachy scent, plus the blush and the highlighter shade are gorgeous and perfect for every day use. As I said in my review, the bronzer shade is my least favourite in the trio, but has still been getting lots of love from me this month.
My favourite nail polish for the month of February was my Sally Hansen polish in “Berry Important” – it’s an oldie but a goodie. As the name suggests, it’s a berry shade that is very flattering on my cool toned skin. I loved this shade for the month of February because it’s a nice alternative to the classic red or pink, but it still fit in with the overall theme of Valentine’s Day. When I use the Sally Hansen gel top coat with this shade it lasts about a week – I really enjoy the formula and own many Sally Hansen nail polishes. This is one of my favourite shades.
Lastly, a bit of hair care. I ran out of my old dry shampoo (the Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak dry shampoo, which I did enjoy) and I wanted to try something new. TRESemmé was on sale at the supermarket so I picked up their Instant Refresh Cleansing Dry Shampoo (I believe they also have a texturising dry shampoo). I love this stuff! I like it a lot more than the Not Your Mother’s range because it has a lovely scent. I love that signature TRESemmé scent, and it lingers in my hair all day, I really like it. This also does a great job of making my hair look fresh and clean again, without making it look even greasier by the end of the day (a lot of other dry shampoos do this). This is so easy to find and is often on sale, so I will definitely be picking this up again – I also want to try more from this range!
Those are the products I have been loving in February. What were your standout products this month? Have you tried any of these products – what did you think? Leave a comment below, I really love to hear from you!
Until next week,
